wmodavis....You mean the share you the protocol?
I havent problem with this

+1, sounds like Modbus style me also, 4-20ma does not contain digital data, it is a linear/analogue signal communication. They are NOT 4-20 mA loop interface.
It sounds 'similar' to Modbus protocol. You must get the full data communication protocol from Gilbarco if you want to interface to some yet as unknown microcontroller.
Hi Diego, this seems like my area of expertise.
What you're talking about is clearly a serial protocol. I doubt it's MODBUS from what I've seen so far in this thread, but then again, it could be.
What's the UART signal level? is it TTL or RS232? Or can you configure it for both?
You mentioned that it was 11 bits long, what else does the manual say about that? Start bit, stop bit, etc? Can you provide us with a link to the manual?
Maybe it's as simple as connecting it to your computer's serial port and using the terminal found in every Windows OS to communicate with it... But I'd have to take a look at the manual first.
I agree... I think we should all use a single language here... we're here to learn electronics, after all...No no no. En inglés por favor!
English please
