Why hasn't anybody said:
Pink Floyd, Dark Side of the Moon or The Wall?
Then I have some strange:
Grofe, Grand Canyon Suite:rolleyes:

Those are albums. Are we just doing songs?
How about Clair De Lune, Hungarian Rhapsody, or Toccata and Fugue in D Minus?:D
I think we are going for things people might not know about? At least I am...

What? Just because some of those are over 100 years old doesn't mean they aren't, "classics".:D
Seriously, the person who introduced me to Grofe is certainly dead by now. I only regret that she never knew how much effect she had on a class of 11 and 12 year old children. The part I don't regret is that I moved to a different school district just before she made the class memorize and recite the entire Hiawatha poem.
What a waste of young brain cells!
When I realized I had escaped that torture, I spent the summer studying German, and I believe that was a good choice.;)
Ja, das bin Ich.

Reference.com:

The complete text of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow's "The Song of Hiawatha" runs over one hundred pages and is too long to be reprinted here. A much-anthologized excerpt begins: "On the shores of Gitche Gumee, / Of the shining Big Sea Water, / Stood Nokomis, the old woman, / Pointing with her finger westward, / O'er the water pointing westward, / To the purple clouds of sunset."

Same here. The thread is about "your favorite song" however I've been thinking about that since I was 13 years old and came to the conclusion that I had to make at least a list of 100 songs that I liked and wouldn't/couldn't play favorites with...Over 25 years later the list just keeps growing;)

So I try to shine a light to songs that I'm somewhat sure that has only reached a part of the population and I really like it when other people do the same.

I remember a time when the internet, software and hardware couldn't handle the bandwidth/CPU needed for people to exchange music or even harder stream music so you would have to find new bands through (similar minded when it came to music) people.

Of the music in this thread that I posted only one was recommended for my by Youtube and that was Underground resistance-Final frontier. As a matter of fact I heard it for the first time 20 minutes before I posted it:)

Everything else I found by myself back in the day or was recommended by friends or family.
