What are your favorite tweezers brands and model you find using the most in your projects?

 

I have a number of tweezers with different tips - pointed, narrow medium and broad with straight or curved ends, insulated and bare. I use whichever pair is most appropriate for the job in hand. They are all from AliExpress, and all do what tweezers are supposed to do.

 

My favorite is a #5 super fine tip that looks like this:

Over recent years, I have bought several sets of tweezers from AliExpress. They were all aligned correctly and were just as robust as those I have I have had for over 50 years. You must have got an unusually bad set.

I had picked up some medical supplies years ago, from which a carbide tipped tweezer and several small sutures have become my favourite.

All of what's been said by others. So I'll take the flip side of the coin: I wouldn't use plastic tweezers. It's an ESD concern and a potential contamination concern from the melting of the tip of the tweezer. And yes, I've seen plastic tweezers being used on electronics. Bad form in my opinion.

HOWEVER: I HAVE seen plastic tools being used. Such as for tuning a tunable coil where using a ferrous screwdriver would change the magnetic field and the resonance of the coil. Learned that back in high school. And yes, they had HS back in the days of cave men.

I saw the word "magnetic" and thought to myself: are you nuts?"

Then I saw the prefix "anti" on the Amazon page.

 

I too like to use the straight-type tweezers. Although I have to admit I haven't tried the bent ones yet.

They are magic for handling 0603 and smaller.

I use what's needed but my preference for small parts are the straight-type tweezers with various tips. For the larger chips the bent ones are used more.

 

Just one pair of Engineer PTS-03 angled tweezers, since I rarely mess with SMD.
