Hi all,

I'm trying to replace this chip (Xilinx-XC95288XL-PQ208CMN0409) on my device, however I couldn't find a replacement parts with the exact same module number. Is there's any current module that I can replace this chip with ?

I've received a reply from the company today & I quote,
"Unfortunately we are not able to help you, as we do not have any pre-programmed chips."

I was wondering if I install the new chip then update the firmware of the device would that help ?

Probably not.

Without boot loader code already installed in the chip, no firmware upgrade will work.

Edit- oops! it's not an MCU, but problem remains the same.

Thanks Sensacell,

How about if I backup the old software ?

Got this information from the instrument user manual.

Quote
"As an option it is possible to upload a backup of the software installed in the MSD. Selecting the checkbox in the area ‘Backup old software’ will enable the input field making it possible to specify a destination filename for the backup file. This backup file can only be installed into an MSD of the same type."

Hi GopherT,

The image on instruments freezes or got distorted, the audio signals path get messed up also the chip get very hot then it cool down for a minute & hot again. Is this a sign that the chip is failing ?
If I were looking, I would be hoping that the "brain chips" (microcontrollers and fpga chips) with firmware would be the last resort solutions. I would make sure everything else worked.

What is this Device that you are working on and what fails?

Model numbers, description of the problem, ...

This thread is more like we are solving your solution rather than solving your problem.
