At first tell us, for what voltage regulator and filtrating capacitor should be in this circuit?Good morning, I would like to know why in this schematic rectification is done only with diodes, there is no filtrating capacitor and voltage regulator.
Alternatively tell us what the electrical equivalent circuit for an X-ray tube looks like. Hint: it looks like a gap between two electrodes with a potentially very large potential difference across it.At first tell us, for what voltage regulator and filtrating capacitor should be in this circuit?
Thank you very much, I think that is the reason for using high frequency techniques in today x ray generators. The reason was explained to me many years ago. First, the X-Ray tube has no requirement for filtered voltage, ansd second, because the x-ray intensity at the peak is what is needed and third, because a capacitor would render the exposure times inaccurate. And the additional reason is that such a high voltage capacitor would reduce the reliability, create a very high turn-on surge, cost a lot, and provide no benefit except for shortening the X-ray tube life.
To have a constant high voltage between the anode and the cathode. At first tell us, for what voltage regulator and filtrating capacitor should be in this circuit?
Thank youThe system was never designed to need or to use a higher constant voltage. That is not how those X-Ray devices were operated. SEE post #5 for the explanation.
