Here is the circuit for pH sensor module which can be interfaced with arduino.This circuit is connected with BNC pH PROBE. It is working fine with arduino,but i cannot understand some of the items in circuit. Please someone explain me following things:

a)What is the role of zener diode in biasing circuit.?
b) What is need for biasing circuit.?
c)How this module will work for acidic and basic solution.?

The zener is to provide a stable voltage for the Biassing circuit OPA.
The bias is required to set the Bias OPA output to above zero volts, say Vcc/2

The document you attached describes the setup. The downloaded software should enable the Arduino to spit out a pH value.
