So, I noticed that we have members from EVERYWHERE on here, and I don't think there's really anywhere that this information is compiled. I think it would interesting to have a list, so I'm creating this thread.

The members' locations are also depicted on a Google map, find right before the members' list.

Please post your location in this thread and it will be added to the first post (right here). Please check back to see if we entered your location correctly.

So how can you find time to do this? As I have heard it from almost all other forums 'moderators are so overworked' they don't have time to do anything to actually make the site better?

BTW my marker is close enough for me! Thank you! :)

You probably don't want your marker exactly over your house. No need to give the internet more information about you than it already has.

The moderators in AAC don't have administration privileges. That means that we can't alter or fix the code of the site. We can only move, delete and stick threads and posts. Very little beyond this.
That means that our duties are mostly restricted to moving misplaced posts, deleting duplicates and spam and enforcing the forum rules. All of this is made a great deal easier by the users who report problematic posts. That way, we don't need to tread all of the forum to find them, since all of the resident members do that anyway.
Of course, we do our rounds too, but that is certainly not enough to cover all of the forum posts.

Then you seem to have misread. While he moderators do a lot of work, they do not have the power to 'make the site better'. They aren't admins...

Edit: looks like Geo beat me to it...

I object.
The moderators do make this site better than it would be without them. They actually protect the members from flamers, sniping, bad manners, spam, advertising, and a few other things.

The members pretty much double check each other for mistaken information, sort of like, "peer review". That means the mods don't have to know everything about every subject so they can understand every post and ensure its validity.

Each person seems to develop a voice. Some are very detail oriented, some are short and incisive, some are more casual, etc. They all contribute because the different voices are necessary to find the lingo that clicks with the person that needs to understand something about their circuit. Here lies the need for tolerance between members. We can't all be the same style. It wouldn't even be appropriate if we were.

True but one bad moderator on a power trip or just way over zealous on rule enforcement can ruin a forums feel faster than a dozen bad members.

How many moderators does AAC have?

I have noticed that forums with many tend to be more relaxed about the little stuff than those that only have a few.

Just curious as to if AAC follows the trend?

I only know of three--Georacer, Bill Marsden, and Bertus. Then there's Dave and Jrap, the admins. I don't think I'm missing anyone, but I might be. And I have to agree with #12, this site does not have any bad moderators. They are all very friendly and fair, not once have I had a problem with one.
