Woops, you're absolutely right. I forgot all about them--Haven't seen either one post in a little while though....hgmjr and thingmaker3 are moderators as well as Dave.

The quotes were because the mods don't have the ability to modify the site source and cannot, in that sense, make the site better. They can and do a good job of ensuring the forums are maintained and it's a pleasure to be here (in fact, I like AAC so much that this is my sole forum membership); in that sense they do make the site great.I object.
The moderators do make this site better than it would be without them. They actually protect the members from flamers, sniping, bad manners, spam, advertising, and a few other things.
The members pretty much double check each other for mistaken information, sort of like, "peer review". That means the mods don't have to know everything about every subject so they can understand every post and ensure its validity.
Each person seems to develop a voice. Some are very detail oriented, some are short and incisive, some are more casual, etc. They all contribute because the different voices are necessary to find the lingo that clicks with the person that needs to understand something about their circuit. Here lies the need for tolerance between members. We can't all be the same style. It wouldn't even be appropriate if we were.
I wonder!!there is at least "one" person who probably doesn't support the moderator..
