And, if reading to a child, anything by Dr Seuss. So much fun to read - especially the early stuff. I still have The Cat In The Hat memorized. What a poet. I've easily read it more than 100 times - maybe 200.

The sun did not shine,
It was too wet to play,
So we sat in the house,
All that cold, cold, wet day.

I sat there with Sally,
We sat there we two,
And I said, "how I wish,
We had something to do."

(I could go on at least 10 more pages. More with a slight refresher.

When you bring children’s books into it, there’s also Clement Moore’s “A Visit from Saint Nicholas”.

“Sam and the Firefly” is also popular in my house.

Mihai Eminescu - There is no star

There is no flickering star
Who not think, when cloud in air
At other shining star,
At love affair

Only a life on the road of death
Only a .........
Only a atom who has no fate
Is not beloved.

Yellowish star without light
Altar that have no God

Mihai Eminescu is the only Romanian poet accepted in Moldova when it was under the Soviet Union

Learn from the wind who is blowing on the paths
How in the world you should always calmly pass
..................
Learn from the worm that no one is forgotten
To be clean, learn it from lilies of the water

Learn from all the flames what you should burn deep down
Learn from waters that you should never withdraw
Learn from the shadow that you should be modest
Learn from the cliff that you can face the tempest!
Learn from the sun how to get to know your time
Learn from the stars that there are armies above

Learn from crickets to sing when you are alone
You shouldn’t be afraid, learn it from the moon.
Learn from the eagles when some hard times come upon

And go to the ant to see its burden.
Learn from the flowers that you should tender be

(I do not know the author. It's on the Internet)
