What makes an AAC user an "Active Member"?

I notice I've just attained the 500 post count, sure enough my rank now reads 'Active Member' --- Apparently said 'promotion' is synchronized with the '500 messages trophy' --- So... Inasmuch as there are 'Active Members' having post counts<500 this would seem to bear-out @tjohnson 's hypothesis as stated in post #18 :D

Now... I'm trying to figure whether (from a military perspective) I've gone from from Sergeant Major to 2'nd 'Louie' or, merely PFC to Lance Corporal?:confused::confused:;)

After looking again at several members' profiles, I'm beginning to wonder if the qualifications for Active Member are either to post 500 messages, or to be a member for 5 years.

The more user profiles I have looked at, the more certain I've become that my hypothesis is correct. Shall we follow the scientific method and call it a theory?;)

This would have been trivial to check under the vB software since you could order the members by join date (as well as many other parameters) and then do a binary search through the pages to find the member of interest. Not so anymore.

I guess it depends on how heated the issue gets and the tenor of the discussion.

It's kinda like an active volcano VS an inactive one:

An active member blows up in a spectacular eruption while an inactive one just lurks around the board and watches all the action. :):p:D

TJohnson: I don't know where that "volcano" located -or whether the whole video is a real at all.

However, it's obvious to those in the field of volcanology/geology that the vid is actually the product of a special effects artist and the "eruption" is fake.

It looks more like a video of burning gasoline imposed on a video of a mountain and a lake somewhere. :p

Above picture might not be a real animal. That animal is like form Jurassic park animal thingy
Did the guy who commented ever thought of that ?

UPDATE: In case anyone yet cares about any of this...

FWIW: I've been alerted to my attainment of the 'Addicted Trophy' (1,000 counted posts) -- Moreover, it seems I've been promoted to: "Well-Known Member" --- Ah! To have exchanged my stripes for bars - sans a stint at OCS! ;););)

So... This would seem to be the Deal:

500 counted posts (or 5 years tenure) = "Active Member"
1000 counted posts = "Well-known member"

I'll let y'all know the 2500 post trophy's effect upon rank -- granting I survive that long:eek::D

As a possible point of interest: Back-checking shows that the alert arrived fully 56 minutes following my 1,000'th post??? -- How truly Xenforo works in mysterious ways its wonders to perform!:D

Best regards

HP that doesn't make any sense! Are you saying like old 4hv where must take aptitude test to promote? I thought then that only to join? What means OCS?
