Was afraid the answer was going to go into Thevenin. Any thing with the word 'theorem' in it scares me to death. Get in into electronics at a very late age and trying to teach myself leaves a lot to desire. Math isn't my strong suit. But thanks for trying to get me to understand.

 

Yeah, but Thevenin is such a strong and useful tool that you really should bite the bullet and learn to use it.

 

At its most basic level, a Thevenin equivalent circuit is nothing more than Ohm's Law applied to a few resistors. What Leon went through to get there is scary, but using it is more inconvenient than difficult.
