Hi all,
I'm attempting to repair a driver module that controls motors on a CNC machine. I've discovered a GE C147S thyristor has died and shorted out. I'm no expert when it comes to SCR's
From what I can find, the GE C147S is an old thyristor with a TO-65 casing (I think, the bolt is a quarter inch or about 6.5mm) from the 70's. Is there an alternative new thyristor I could use that I can easily buy as I cannot find this thyristor anywhere online.

Check out the listings equivalent for Teccor, now Littlefuse, they will have a TO-220 to TO-3P that can be used.
If no direct equivalent shown, just use the current/voltage specs to get in close.

What about this from RS... http://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/thyristors/8172459/ seems very cheap & looking at the spec, all the voltages and current is over rated so do you reckon this will do the trick?
