Technology and humans have walked hand in hand ever since we came to existence. We have come a long long way but science still keeps fair share of mysteries to be unraveled.
What are some of the most intriguing advancements you foresee?
AI-VR-AR-MR they are all around, do you think they will really be as revolutionary as claimed to be?

There are stories after stories of advancement and near "breakthrus" in every field now. If just one refinement could be made it will change the world.....is usually the story. A lot of marketing is now involved.

Usually it turns out there is more than one problem and even then it's only under certain conditions.....that keep it impractical.

We're still refining very old tech. Better hardware and software means more refinement.

It's just faster and improved control of previous tech or tech which needed that degree of control to be practical. It has made a big difference in every field. A tech revolution.

But I believe to get a truly tech revolution in a literal sense......some one needs to dis-prove a long accepted premise. It will take something shocking to the academics.....to force re-investigation of the fundaments.

For instance a magnetic diode. Some think they might have a device and some think they might have a material. This simple ability is HUGE. This is no-return magnetic flux.

It will make the quantum hardware designer drool. In an evil way. Quantum registers.

And it will make wireless power designers feel like supermen.

Not to mention the mathematicians needed to relate this to current tech fields.

As they say now a days......to get woke.....we need to dis-prove something really big.

All the technologies you mentioned I believe, are already starting to disrupt many industries. Especially AI. I mean, China is going all out for AI development, right?

What I’d like to see though is how these revolutionary technologies can solve current issues whether political, social or even environmental and health matters. We all want a healthy, sustainable future, right?

Is the word disrupt embedded in the hype message generator function?

One day, all the dreams of technology will come true.
Just imagine what it would be like in VR-AR-MR!

I think what intrigues me most about tech of the future is that we are unlikely to even be able to comprehend what we are capable of and the kinds of tech that will be around - who knows what tech 50-100 years from now will look like? And that is a scary yet amazing thing

I think AI/AR/VR/MR all have huge potential, in differing ways. Realistically, they are already having an effect - you only have to look at the AI advancements in China or the AR/VR tech that is being introduced to assist the elderly or the injured to know that it is probably a little past the potential stage and more into the 'starting to happen' phase - let's just hope it continues upward in a positive direction.

China and U.S. are focusing on all the wrong things for now (digitizing weapons, creating space arsenal). The only good news I heard lately was from Japan (it recently started a pilot project to build smart cities using AI). Contrary to general opinion that AI will wipe us out and take over everything we do to survive, I think we can accomplish better things and use it for assisting us in critical tasks.
I am still skeptical regarding all the negative hype though. General public doesn't understand the logic behind machines, they just understand it will take away their jobs. How do you think this could be resolved?

While I focused on these technologies (this is all I have been reading on forums lately), what are the other spheres that will change drastically over the next decade or so? I see a lot happening in Gene Editing and Neurology. You think there is too much focus on these new technologies while we must work on improvising the core domains?

These Market-Driven bot like messages are cool. It’s clear that the hype is far ahead of reality.

The best part of rapid technological advancement is the real possibility of replacing large numbers of humans with very large scale automation.

That would free up a lot of resources that are now being used to accommodate more population growth and development. The rapid spread of automation will be the moral equivalent of the so called "neutron bomb" that virtually eliminates the population (by mass unemployment), but leaves the homes and buildings intact.

With drastically reduced demand for housing, home prices will drop like a rock!!! ;)

Is that what this is? They seem almost human, but when taken together as a whole, the limitations of their AI are self-evident. I noticed it with only two of them. Now their are five or more, and they are all exactly alike.

I'm wondering what's the point?

Perhaps a Turing test?

What intrigues me most about the future is learning when new users stop coming to this site to treat it as just another social media forum rather than using it for its real intent to discuss electronics. :). Seems we have had a rash of these lately.

The content of the posts are definitely being written by humans, most likely one person (maybe two).

I'm wondering what's the point?
My first thought was that the aliases could be used as shills for some future marketing campaign, with the current round of "tech talk" being used to establish them as legitimate users. But the posting patterns are too tone-deaf (bot-like) for this to be a serious marketing strategy, so now I'm wondering if the AAC forum is just a sandbox and we're alpha testers of a work in progress. Maybe someone's developing a long-game social media manipulation tool, or maybe it's an academic research project.

Whatever the case, it seems the posts have stopped (since Thursday?) once suspicion was publicly aired. Will the real @marcuskeene please stand up?

As far as I can tell, none of the suspect usernames has even logged in since then, either. One wonders whether moderator action was taken...

I went into the above user he was last seen, yesterday 5:21am crypto currency Thread, also it was after he posted, my suspicion to see anything from other people posting it clearly is meant to be rhetorical.

What the heck is Crypto Nation anyway.

Edit: Of course his post appeared at 5:19, then seen again at 5:21am

Edit:Edit: Ah, it's a bump for a website offering Blockchain Business.

Although AAC is primarily an electrical/electronics/technology oriented site, it is also the moral equivalent of an old ladies sewing club and a good place to discuss rumor and gossip. :D
