What does Voltage tracking mean?

Commonly, voltage regulators contain a voltage reference.
This one uses an external reference so its output voltage tracks the reference it is supplied with. If the reference doubles, the output voltage doubles. The output may be less than, equal to, or greater than, the supplied reference voltage.

Thanks. Can you give an example using numbers (Voltages at the Adj pin and Vref pin) with the above mentioned part? Please
