What do these numbers mean on schematic?

I'm trying to understand the schematic for an old Sony Walkman. There are numbers with arrows pointing at many of the nodes. Could someone tell me what they mean? Here's an example:

The "arrows" indicate the base to emitter junction of a transistor, here a dual transistor as the circle indicates the package of a single device, though the circle is now frequently understood and not drawn.

Sí. Reminds me a frequent contributor in the Microchip forum who gained fame of knowing an incredible amount of languages. His knowledge boiled down to judicious use of translators.
IIRC he was an EE named Rahul something.
