Hi. Im new here and trying to repair a circuitboard.

I am trying to get hold of this diode(?). How do I read the numbers on top. Google gave me nothing i'm afraid.

It says P208 and BFP.

It is SMCJ36A TVS diode (Transient Voltage Suppressor)
Manufacturer is Brightking.

It is a bi-directional TVS. Chances are that there is nothing wrong with it unless it is exhibiting a short in both directions.

The diode turned black when att battery was mounted wrong way and it smells burnt. Everything else looks fine in the circuit so I will try to change the and see if it works again.

No. It is SMCJ36A.
This is a protection diode. Remove it and test the circuit. If the circuit does not work then there is a problem somewhere else.
