You might consider self-hosting. All you need is a static IP address and your ISP is the one that can (or won't) do this for you. You won't have a fancy domain name.com, but if you're just driving people to a storage site, you can just link to your server.
I considered doing this for the last site I worked on but I decided the electricity to run my computer would amount to nearly what GoDaddy charges for hosting, and they have all the worries about keeping the site functional. It wasn't worth doing it from my house.
