Hi I'm trying to find a replacement varistor and I have no idea how to find the replacement part or how important it is to get an exact match. Eg does it matter if the size is different (17mm vs 20)

Markings are
VE17
0131k
740040A

I figure the ve17 = 17mm
0131k = 130V. .... ?
Not sure what the last numbers might refer to.

Anyway Im having trouble finding an exact replacement.

Are there any specs that don't need to be exact like with capacitors going a little higher is ok sometimes.

Is this the data sheet you need?

http://datasheetz.com/data/Over Vol...VS - Varistors, MOVs/478-2190-datasheetz.html

Thanks guys. The data sheet has the MOV i want but I'm still having trouble finding an actual one I can buy...

If i search "130V rms MOV" I get results but I'm unsure if that's the only spec I need to match. Is the 17mm part important? Is 16mm good enough.
yes the diameter is important , it determines the amount of "energy" the device can dissipate/handle without vaporizing.

Note that page 19 is a continuation of page 18 in the previous provided PDF by Hymie.
Page 19 provides 9(sorry 8) additional columns of specs in addition to the 5 columns after the part number on page 18.
Not sure if'n I explained that correctly but have another look and you'll probably figure it out.
Cheers
