It blows my mind people will continue to build where natural disaster is inevitable. It's must be some combination of pride to one's homeland and the inability to find a new homeland.

A petrochemical station exploded near my city killing many people. They decided it was a good idea to rebuild at the same site.

It's makes me uneasy driving past the place even though I know it is extremely unlikely it will happen again. Imagine this context with a active volcano... Any time now!
