Hi all,

I am planning to use the TSH282CT hall effect sensor, but I am not 100% sure how to wire it to avoid noise and interference.
The datasheet shows a diode connected in series with the supply. Why is this needed, and is this mandatory for proper operation? Also, why a 100 ohms resistor can be used to replace the diode in this circuit?
The rest should be quite straightforward though. C1 and C2 are decoupling capacitors, and R1 is used as the output is an open collector.

Does prevent reverse hookup but probably not mandatory. The resistor would limit the reverse current to a safe value?
What is your supply voltage?
