I believe in myself just fine, and I believe in the average of $125 an hour I made working on air conditioners last year. I hope you believe in yourself enough to make that kind of money fixing TV's!

AAAAAh!! I donno ur face expression when u said that but.....so what ever

I'll tell you what I made in the last two months, in addition to it I was online most of the time on AAC and doing my hobby projects too.
Since I don't do hourly work, or day work for that matter, I work when ever I want. I made 17000.00 in February and my march in come which was the recent job I finished was around 16000.00.
And let me tell you what I do, I fix TV's, PC's and Central Air con's too, including car stereo and AC , infact if anything that has an electronic circuit in it, and if any one says it cannot be done, it will end up in my hand, working with in minutes.

These kind of numbers are very rare for any one here, average monthly income for a Maldivian is from 2000.00 to 10,000.00. and that is 8 hr or more per day.

I'll let you do the the Math.

I do this becuase I believe I can do this, and that's a fact.

Well If you start with something broken, and end up with something working and money in your hand, you are doing something right.

If it gives you the financial freedom and time to pursue your hobbies and other interests, do it..

OK.. remove those jumpers, but do mark them before removal.
see the pic, verify that input of regulator has a connection to the jumpers.
after this remember to put the jumpers back as they were.
You can clean those white glue.

with continuity test, the top left and middle have continuity and bottom right one (all with respect to right most pin on regulator).
i have to go take care of errands. so want me to remove all five jumper pins?

how can you tell on the top side of the board where the trace is or how components are connected?

This is going to be rather difficult.
You see the board has it's own converters. And they run with a 12V input, the peripherals need 3.3V, 5V and 1.2V or something like that to operate.
The LCD will definitely need a 5V or 3.3V. it has it's own converter.
these voltages are missing and we need to trace the fault.

But the way the pictures are I cannot trace the tracks, so I am asking you to find it, if you donno, then you have to give me a better view from all the sides, like a 3D view, so it will be like that I have the board with me, I can look at it in any way I want.
I donno how to explain these kind of fault findings ways but believe me that I can fix that TV if you can show me the things I want to see.
That inductor and capacitor are blocking the tracks. you have to remove them carefully so that the tracks can be seen.
can you do that.

Good job, John, really nice this time..can I call you John? :)

See the Pic. I cannot seem to find where the track leads. Try to understand what I am saying by studying the pic. The track ends there, may be a thru hole is connecting to the bottom, but the bottom has the output plate all over which means there cannot be a via hole connecting the input to the other side.
This tells us the the track will be on the top and from the pictures I cannot make it out. Try to trace that track and find the component which it connects, I don't care what ever the component is, just find where it leads.
There should be a way that ,that regulator gets it's power.
don't try to remove any SMD component, u'll get into trouble. Just clean the glues and show me where that track ends up.

You guys need to connect some test equipment so we can see any
results from your labor. If time was money this would have been repaired.
This Is what I wanted to see,a repair step by step but this not happening.
we see pictures of curcuit boards,no pictures showing shorts, opens no
scope pictures. Does the op have any of this equipment to move this along,
without reading the entire post, you don't If the board Is unpairable If so
this not a good example of a step by step repair Which I have wanted to see
for along time with all the talent on this forum. A good result would give none
t.v. repairs members more reason to tackle there own repairs. I still remember
the first time I saw a engineer take on a diagram of a t.v. to repair,2 hours
later I think he had got to the power transformer studying the windings.
I think I was one of few repair places that regular caulk board sessions on
company time 9-11 working hours, the engineer was student for a month of
good pay I wanted It to work, but t.v. repairs take a special person that has
no watch. How many real t.v. repair people do we have on the forum, not many.

Rifaa knows what he is doing. I think the OP probably lacks the test equipment you request, if so, I think the repair photos would have leaned in that direction.

As for the reality of this thread, I think you cant beat it. this is reality-tv. You are seeing someone who has had no prior experience being guided by hand, over the internet, and receiving help that would usually cost hundreds. I think it is a fascinating look into determination and education.

Maybe after the repair is done, the thread could be 'EDITED' to show the step by step procedure with out all of the "real" problems that do jump up in a job like this.

I know the life you are living, you are the go to guy that don't say
no to anything, and somehow things come out right no matter what.
Some people have that majic ability to come out on top,but not on
small Island in the Pacific. Cheers for Riaff
