Thought for the day...

Think about this, if you cheat to enter college, you go to jail, if you cheat to enter the country, you get a free college education.
There are 17 states that allow for free public, community college education for immigrants enrolled in a naturalization process but I can't find any state that gives a free education to an illegal immigrant. Being accepted to a naturalization process is a mandatory requirement. There are a few instances that I can find where illegal immigrants have received scholastic scholarships at private institutions but they all had outstanding scholastic references. Where do you come by information to support your comment?

My information comes from several decades of watching news, reading newspapers and watching illegal graduates at taxpayer expense, brag about their degrees and complain that they can not practice their profession, because they are not legal residents.

Where have you been?

What about the millions, that's millions, of illegal alien children in our public schools.

What about the millions, that's millions, of illegal aliens that are treated at our municipal clinics and hospitals?

Not to mention the illegal alien prison population.

Of course i have no academic studies to prove my conclusions, because I do not believe in modern academic studies. They are properly prepared lies. The grammar is perfect.

I prefer to think for myself. Which is very scary for an academic or politician.

You're joking, right? Name a major university that DOESN'T have policies specifically protecting the illegals amongst the student body. Here are just a few of the many resources advising illegals how to attend college.
As an undocumented student, you are legally permitted to go to college in the United States

In total, these six pieces of malware account for around $95 billion worth of damage through the infection of millions of systems.
Rubbish. The carelessness of the affected users accounts for the damages. These things didn't cost me or any other Mac user a penny.

Every since we got our cable box, whenever an alert of any kind comes on, we turn the box off for a few minutes.

Whenever an alert comes on, it locks our tv screen. And if we can not control my tv, I turn it off. Whenever one of my devices doesn't listen to me, I kill it. Bad habit to put up with.

I pay for a selection of channels, for the exact purpose of being able to change channels, when the present channel starts broadcasting garbage. Which is quite often.

A SMALL, QUIET banner is all that is needed. It should be a setup option.

I say unite......and turn off your box when it alerts. Power to the people.

I had the opposite reaction back in 1996 while watching the Indy 500. The interrupted the race for a tornado warning and I was very much in the watch area. They had just said that a tornado had been spotted on the ground and just as they were about to say where the commercials came on. I had to sit through all the commercials and wait for the Indy 500 coverage to come back on at which point they immediately started the warning break again. I was incensed! Here they are issuing a warning about something that often gives people only ten to thirty seconds to take action and they delay it for a several minutes because of commercials?!?!

I called the station and ended up speaking with the station manager and he explained that they have in their contract with syndicators and advertisers that they can't interrupt advertisement feeds. When I pressed further about not even in the even of dangerous real-time events he admitted (accidentally, I think) that if they don't show the entire commercial uninterrupted for any reason then they don't get paid for it. As near as I could tell, that was the only sanction for violating that provision of the contact. I know as a station manager what MY decision would have been! Plus, I think I could have leveraged it to the station's ultimate benefit by making it public that the station has chosen to put the safety of the community above it's own revenues by violating it's contract with the Indy 500 coverage producers and paying a financial cost as a result.

I guess they just ran out of words (hard to imagine but I will leave my skeptical side alone) and had to have 8 champions - well done!

...and that reminds me of my personal favorite all-time spelling bee kid...it's old but inspiring...a new take on, "I get knocked down, but I get up again"...and spell.

Poor kid.
That's what happens when you lock you knees while standing for long periods of time.
I have seen first hand, what is in the video you posted. Even though this was common knowledge and instruction - given a couple hours of formation and a 95+ degree day and I would see at least one fall. Granted there are other factors. It was always worse for the soldier who felt they had let others down.

Not sure what happened to the kid. It looks like they do have to stand for the round, until they are up to spell, and it could have been that. But, also the sheer anxiety of the situation. What was so amazing to me is that he recovers and quickly - rights himself, steps back to the microphone and spells the &%#$ word!

In the first video I posted, all eight know that if they get this last word, they are champions. The scene I like the best is the kid with erysipelas - she knows the word and can't get through the usual questions fast enough.

Follis says it is against Plaid Pantry policy to carry weapons, and so even though he likely thwarted a robbery, he says he was fired. He says he knew he was breaking the rules by having the gun at work, but thought his safety was more important.

“I’d rather get fired over something like that then possibly be in the hospital dying,” Follis said.

It seems the criminal didn't get the 'no weapons' memo.
