can i replace a PTC switching thermistor for a ' fuse' type thermistor in a
power tool battery pack to prevent overheating ( when charging )

 

You can replace any thermistor for the same type and value @25C.

IE Ntc or Ptc must be the same type, otherwise it will give the wrong readings.

the original is a PTC which measures zero ohms @25deg ( room temp )
when it is heated and exceeds 500ohms.. the charger turns off ( temp? )
these results are obtained by experimenting with an identical thermistor
from a similar device

if a fuse type would fit this criteria.. what sort of spec
would i be looking for
