The war on motion interpolation

I just spent a week in a very nice hotel. We had a huge flatscreen TV and lots of premium channels but I think the TV or remote were special for hotel use because we couldn’t find any way to adjust the picture. I spotted the soap opera effect immediately - I hate it - but we couldn’t change it. Torture.
