I just saw a great episode of Police Cops on TV. They found an automotive air bag in a garage and showed me how to turn it into a Claymore mine. After creating this bomb, they detonated it to demonstrate its effectiveness. It blew a 50 pound shrapnel blanket against the roof of the garage.

Thanks for the education, officer!

Maybe we could all learn something from the people of the little town of Cheran:

http://www.bbc.com/news/magazine-37612083
There is at least one city on the U.S. where the police department went out of business. The town did not collapse into anarchy, fall into disarray, and was not taken over by gangsters.

Make that THREE.

Two blood tests show no alcohol or drugs. Trial for DUI will proceed.

Cop maces woman strapped to a chair, then gets promoted.

Riot Cops block access to City Council in "a backroom deal between the police union and the city that the citizens of Portland have been given no opportunity for involvement in."

"how can you maintain the illusion of freedom when daily, Americans are being shot, stripped, searched, choked, beaten and tasered by police for little more than daring to frown, smile, question, challenge an order or just exist?"

and finally, these might not be cops in blue uniforms, but they are agents of our government tasked to enforce The Law:

I'm not condoning what they did but the 'CIA and The Law' is an oxymoron. President Clinton, his security counsellor Sandy Berger and his terrorism counsellor Richard Clarke instructed the CIA in autumn 1995 to destroy Al-Qaida. The CIA, unlike the FBI, has no law enforcement authority.

The police are getting smarter.:)
They decided that jumping in front of a car to fake being in danger is, "against policy", especially when the car is in Reverse and moving away from the officer.:D Only 40 years after I figured out this ruse to justify murder.

They also figured out cameras are more dangerous than guns.
This reporter is facing 45 years in prison for filming,

after this cop got 2.5 years for: "Rankin was indicted on charges of using a gun in a felony and first-degree murder."

For just one day, these officers helped Braden forget his daily challenges as well as their own.
"It helps put things into perspective into why we're here. It's a bigger story, for him to be able to see just what police are here for," said Detective Eeten, fighting back tears. "We are people. Just like him. Real struggles, you know. Real feelings. And real families."
The day after the party, Braden went to the station to thank the officers for making his birthday so special.
