That was a happenstance meeting. Officer Safety was on the way to a domestic when she did a U-turn to do a comply-or-die on the stranded motorist.
I didn't say she was on that call, only that others thought it was strange beyond just a stopped car and reported it.

I agree, so the reason it might be strange was primarily caused by the person who got shot.
The video shows inability of the officer to take control of the situation. She shoots the guy because of her own incompetence. This is his fault because? I saw on the video a guy wondering around with his arms up (generally) until he is allowed to approach the vehicle by the officer. As per other training video posted, this is a no-no. So why does she let him do it? There are simple rules that I would follow without training. Why is this a shoot to kill scenario?

Here is a question for you - a while back I got really drunk and had to break into my own house. I do not remember 1 hr of my life still. I hate authority. Would I be alive today if the police were called by my neighbours? I guess if I was dead you would say it is my fault... this is a sad world indeed.

I agree about her own incompetence but I'm sure this is not the first stop she has made. What was different about this one that ended up with the possibility of her committing a crime?

Right, she can recognize someone under the influence, she just does not know how to deal with them, or does she? point and shoot? interesting policy

I've always said her actions were suspect from my very first post of this shooting. You're right that the escalation to deadly force seemed more pushed by her than the victim but there's little doubt the drivers possible impairment and lack of positive feedback to commands influenced her possible fear driven tunnel vision because it was reported by all who saw him on the road.

So, would you be incompetent if a non-complient person was ignoring your instructions when he outweighs you by 100 or so lbs?

How come you didn't handle the situation?

If she was by her lonesome with the guy charging with only his bare hands I would agree but she had a big male partner, at the ready, who had already fired a Taser when she pulled the trigger on the gun. It's a close call to me it was criminal but not IMO that she over-reacted to the threat.

Why did Mr. Crutcher (the unarmed guy with car troubles) lay there and bleed out?
You can hear the bottom line in 100 seconds, or just read the headline:
‘Officers are never held accountable’ – Retired police captain

Police release videos of shooting of Keith Scott
...
“It was not lawful for him to possess a firearm,” Putney said. “There was a crime he committed and the gun exacerbated the situation.”
...
Police on Saturday gave this account of the fatal encounter:

Two officers in plain clothes were in an unmarked car waiting to serve a warrant when Scott’s white SUV pulled in beside of them.

They saw Scott roll what they believed to be a marijuana “blunt.” They returned to watching for their suspect when they saw Scott hold up a gun.

They withdrew to a spot nearby and put on duty vests that said “Police” and equipment that would identify them as officers.

When they came back, Scott still had the gun. They identified themselves as police officers, the department said, and told him loudly and repeatedly to drop the weapon. Scott did not comply.

"Next time someone says “do what the police tell you, and you will not be hurt,” show them this video."
http://thefreethoughtproject.com/video-cops-liars-taser-man-back/

"What the video shows is the power of police lies. Had this surveillance footage been kept from the public, no one would have believed that Seals did not deserve to be tasered."

It's obviously the video is the problem. Filming these sadistic $%^&*s is ruining the profession. It's a real War on Cops.
Wait...it's their own video.
We need more laws like North Carolina just passed to keep the public from seeing the police videos!

Where hungry people loot in a riot.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are searching for a woman accused of looting the Jimmy John’s sub shop at 230 S. Tryon St. during protests in uptown Charlotte this week.
..
Also during Wednesday’s protest, a large group of people broke into Buffalo Wild Wings at 400 East Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., police said.
After all that food they need to sleep.
Police on Thursday arrested Ian Bowzer, 19, of Charlotte after reviewing video footage of a man kicking in the doors of the Hyatt Hotel in the 400 block of East Trade Street during Wednesday’s unrest. Bowzer, a.k.a. Logan Bathrick, was charged with injury to real property and is free on a $3,000 bail.
