Oh dang - Can't upload my fancy new calculator. What the heck? No excel extensions.

Well it's the end for me anyways :D

Sorry wayneh was off working on a spreadsheet to analyse transmission lines.

The problem might be because it's an xlsx file, I've excel 2016 free from the uni.. I remember there used to be similar problems with docx files. I'll convert it to the xls version tomorrow and see if it uploads.

No, you'd want to look at Mathematica for that.

Well i know other programs can do it, just wanted to know if Excel could do it. By your response i take it that it can not do it. I thought that was the case as i thought Excel was basically a number machine at it's heart. Now i know for sure, thanks. That tells me it's probably not for me because i need symbolic operations most of the time (although not all the time).

Huh, I’m surprised you had a problem. Try zipping the file first?

Hello,

Usualy the macro files end on xlm or xlsm.
It is to the user to set safety in excel to block macros.
I often see the message in excel if I want to activate the macros.
