Turkey, chicken and all sorts of foul. We normally OD on turkey at Thanksgiving so Christmas is other good stuff but within a few months turkey is back in the mainstream.

I think this Thread deserves how you deal with left over Turkey besides freezing it, because the 2 holidays are so close to each other. So, how would you incorporate it in other meals.

One of my favorites with cold turkey is curry dip, which is nothing more than Hellman’s mayo with a very generous amount of curry powder stirred in. People will plow through it like a plague of locusts. Just dip and eat.

how you deal with left over Turkey
When I was a kid, we usually ate it cold with mustard and soy sauce. My family carries on the tradition and we have some after Thanksgiving dinner and we call it "snacking turkey"; I save room for it. We eat it that way when we reheat leftovers.

I got my brother in law's kids doing it too. One Thanksgiving, they were sitting around the island while I stripped the carcass. I gave them some turkey with a dish of mustard soy sauce and they liked it.

There's usually not enough to make turkey sandwiches. If any is leftover, I use it to make another pot of juk. Boil it for several hours and shred it like you would for Chinese chicken salad.

 geez ... I apologize... it seems that I crossed a very sensitive line there ... ... what was I thinking?....
:p

Up here we have a product we call “Mexican sour cream”. I don’t really know what that means but I think it would be fine substitute. Good yogurt should work too. Creamy fat+sour+curry is a pretty simple formula.

Guessing the #1 is turkey sandwiches and I like to make turkey salad. Also, while I know it's a bad habit the two dogs, Biscuit and Charlotte also get turkey in their food.

My Daughters husbands family are from Mexico, I'll bring my Brined turkey however my daughters sister in-law is bringing Turkey Taco's, which I think left over turkey would be great with some Guacamole, salsa with some lettuce and pico de gallo.

I never use Mayo out of the jar, always mix it with Japanese Horseradish (Wasabi) and a dash of lemon juice.

Sounds OK, but what do you then use it for? I like mayo on sandwiches (BLT, tuna salad, egg salad, turkey, etc.) and not all of them would work with wasabi.

You might like a dish I make.
I would use it on all the above, the Wasabi does not need to be all that overt. I mix up a jar to my personal taste.
I'm a aficionado of hot spices.:p

You might enjoy a dish I learned to make via my daughter. Oh hey, I've described it here before:

Since then I've made it with a blackening spice blend I bought in New Orleans called "Joe's Stuff". Sriracha is great but this was excellent!

Yeah, Miracle Whip! Never had a mayonnaise that could match the taste of the Whip. :)
This is just one of those "things". Walk in our kitchen and open the refrigerator. You will find a jar of Mayo and a jar of Miracle Whip. Growing up I was mayonnaise while Kathy was that other stuff. When she makes her potato or macaroni salad she makes some using each. I will of course eat the Miracle Whip but I lean towards the Mayo. :)

Anything would be great with those things. The avocado alone is a gift from the food Gods! Fond memories of living in CA and having an avocado tree in my backyard. :) Turkey Tacos with salsa really sound good. Sounds so good I think some of the left over turkey will find it's way into some tortillas. Thanks for mentioning that.

I learned today "NOT" to let my youngest sister make the pies and cakes. undoubtedly She considers Herself a pastry chef (?). I on the other hand disagree! four sets of three layers of cakes (4x3=12) were throwed out to the dog. And when I told her to just stop and let someone that does know "handle it", I was met with I'll just leave and some very colorful four letter words of what she thought about it. So now I don't know if she will even be here for thanksgiving....:(. I wasn't trying to be mean but there is no need of remaking something several times trying to get it right. All day all I heard was well I'm going by the recipe! but they kept coming out wrong. pecan pies had toooo much syrup in them and came out runny, Her homemade cake batter tasted awful and didn't rise. Now I don't know what to do.... As I said I wasn't trying to hurt her feelings but I guess I did. I understand She was trying to help but you can't keep doing the same thing and expect a different result.
Edit: while I was typing this She walked back into my house and started cussing at everyone that was here trying to help make them over again.
I'm at a loss.

Has she ever made something that was acceptable? You could encourage her to make that recipe. If there's nothing, I don't see any solution except to live with it and laugh about it. Limit her supplies.
