The notation you seem to be trying to use is simply a way of say when a switching action occurs. In general, an open switch symbol is used regardless of whether the switch is going to be opened or closed, but it is not uncommon to see a closed switch symbol used for a switch that is going to go from closed to open. The key thing is to look at the direction of the arrow. If it is going away from the terminals, then the switch is going to go from closed to open while if it is going toward the terminals then the switch will go from open to closed. The time indication merely says when the even will occur. The position of the switch precisely AT the time of the transition is generally undefined and almost never makes a difference. Many times, particularly with transform methods, it is most convenient to consider the switch in its new position at the time of the transition.
