Hi all,
I use a 1.25A Battery Tender to warm my motorcycle battery (AGM), and occasionally my car battery (900AH sealed lead-acid). The Battery Tender has three charge indicators:
Solid Red: Battery = less than 80%
Blinking green: = 80% to 100%
Solid green: 100% and tending
If I unplug it from solid green and plug it right back in, it indicates solid red for a minute, and then starts blinking green. This also happens right after I park the vehicle and plug it in, although it stays red longer. In other words, I unplug it at 100% and it jumps right down to 80%. Why would it do this?
My theory is that the tender only achieves a full surface charge, which disappears when I unplug it. Would unplugging it and plugging it back in actually make it charge the battery further?
