Step down converter from UK to Japanese

Hi there, Probably quite a simple one. I recently bought a Tascam 424 Mk iii cassette deck from Japan and I understand I will need to get a stepdown converter from 230/240v - 100v. However, on the power supply, the output also mentions 22VA, so do I need to factor this into which converter I buy? If anyone could direct me to the right converter that would be highly appreciated. Here is a photo for clarity. Thanks, Harley.

I just had a look around the web,
check your unit, the web seems to be sayign it needs a 12V input , whilst your PSU shows 24 V ?

The cassette deck requires 12vAC @1.25A

The TEAC manufactured OEM AC-AC adaptor is marked as either 100v or 120v to 2 x 12v AC

Why does the original TASCAM PS-P424 Mklll state 24V (12V x)?
Check the output connector on your power adapter and see if there are two or three contacts.

No, the adapter is capable of supplying 45VA, but your power adapter & deck will only take what they need...

There are 2 connectors, one ever-so slightly bigger than the other which I believe is the Japanese standard as opposed to the US equivalent which are the same size. The input to the deck is a 5 pin din.

That's weird, because the 3rd party adaptor has a barrel connector... on the 12v end...

This why its so much easier to step the supply side down to 110v and use the original adaptor

I think the MKi and MKii used barrel connectors but the iii annoyingly shifted to 5 pin din.

Apologies if I'm missing a point, but would stepping it down to 110v not be enough and in turn blow it?
