Two new MPSA29, that have not been used?
Not totally positive Q8 is defective as of right now. There is another test to proved definitively

one is the one I did replace (i take out soon after blowing R1 and put back the original) the other is new

Most likely they are both defective now because Q8 is probably also defective
You can check the MPSA29 with the Diode function following my instructions when you are ready.

First want to test the transistor you have on hand, not the one installed.
Using the Diode function connect the positive lead to the base and get reading from the base to emitter and base to collector.

is what i have done before to test it. do you wont the reading? other wise they are ok

None of this make sense from the voltage readings previously.
Do the same test on Q8, you don't have to remove it from the board just make sure the power is OFF.

when you said check the voltage, do you mean change the meter from diode to volts?
