Fantastic fellas - this feels like it may be solved. But just to double check with you guys:

Need to feed:

12Vx3A USB3 Hub (i.e. lose the usb2 hub - just use usb2 devices in usb 3 ports)
5Vx1A HDMI splitter
5Vx4A Odroid

Propose using:

120W PicoPSU:
http://www.fullspeedit.co.uk/picopsu-120w-power-supply--120w-external-psu-368-p.asp
Provides:
5V @ 6A, 5VSB @ 1.5A, 3.3V @ 6A, 12V @ 7A, -12V @ 0.05A

Putting the Odroid (4A) on the 6A line

then getting the 5Vx1A HDMI Splitter from the 12V line, via a step-down Buck:

http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/DC-DC-Buck-...utput-1-25V-35V-TOPS-/151581115326?nav=SEARCH

This gonna do it?

If so - now just need to check out cheap vs Mini-box psus + picos...

I'm really confused as to what is needed for this project. You originally stated that you only needed 5v and now you need 12v as well?

Why don't you list exactly what you need for all aspects of the system. Is all you need enough 5v to power what was in the first posting? If so, there are other ways than the Pico that are much less expensive and I would have to guess, probably a little more "robust".

Also, they splitter/octopus thing, looks like it is for the 5v rail. How many things need to be powered by it?

Are there other devices inside the unit that require power such as a monitor of some type or anything else?

Finally, do you want a power brick on the outside of the unit like this or would a standard power cord (like the ones that plug into ATX power supplied, monitors, printers, etc) plugged into the system be adequate.?
