Good day. I am trying to repair a temperature difference controller from Sorel (LTDC V3 SOREL_S40.4)
I need replacement for a plug of type Degson 8EDG-STDC-5.0-08P or more likely replacing plug and socket, as Degson products are hard to find at reasonable price, especially in small quantities.
In order to replace plug and socket it would be amenable to remove a flat flexible cable (FFC) that runs form the buttons on the front through the printed circuit board (PCB) to a socket. However, I am unsure whether this 8 pin FFC cable can be disconnected and reconnected from its socket without damaging it.
Hence my questions:
1. Could you recommend me a 8 pin spaced by 5mm socket-and-plug system similar to the Degson one?
2. Do you recognize the type of socket to which the FFC cable is connected to?
2.1 Can the FFC cable be removed and reconnected?
2.2 If the response to 2.1 is negative, can this type of cable be crimped to a plug and connected to an alternative plug-and-socket system?
2.3 If the response to 2.3 is affirmative, could you recommend such a plug-and-socket system?
