I've always liked reading about this effect.......because it apparently looks like moving mass without friction when watching it.

This comes at that effect a little bit differently. I think one could closely relate the effect to cavitation also.

I have a program i created a while back that simulates something like that but unfortunately only in two dimensions.
I'll see if i can dig it up and maybe post it here.
Whenever there is a collision, it also creates a little "chirp" that reminds me of a chipmunk or some other very tiny creature that accidentally bumped into another one of it's kind and is annoyed
