Okay, we are about to the point of ordering parts.
Where are you located and do you have a preferred place to buy electronic parts?
Do you need help with basic stuff like what perfboard to buy, etc.?

Central NJ. No preferred electronics store. I'll go to or order from wherever has the pieces you recommend. And yes any and all specific recommendations would be greatly appreciated. This is my first dabbling with custom electronics of this nature.

Okay, attached is a preliminary parts list I did at Jameco Electronics.
It includes a protoboard, which should work to mount all the components, but there are many different types available so feel free to use something else, if you like.
It doesn't include resistors, but those are just standard 1% axial leaded types, which you can add to the list.
If you want to mount it in some sort of box, you will have to add that also.

I do this for the enjoyment, so if you get a chance to pay it forward, that's repayment.

I do appreciate and recognize with that philosophy. I find myself involved with a lot of other people's mechanical projects very similarly.

I'm out now but will take a look at the parts list when I get back home.

A box would probably be best for protection. How sensitive will this set up be? The diesel engine sends a lot of vibration throughout the truck.

Should this unit for sure be mounted in cab as opposed to under hood?

It's not sensitive to vibration.
They are all solid-state parts with a high tolerance for shock and vibration.

In the cab (under the dash) is preferable to avoid the underhood heat, which reduces the reliability of all the parts.

All of the Jameco parts are in my cart and ready to go. I didn't find 1% resistors on jameco besides in bulk.

This site seems to have just about every kind of resistor. In fact, they have multiple sizes for each ohm rating listed on your diagram at 1% tolerance and axial type. I'm not sure which sizes would be best.

Jameco does have a variety of enclosures I see. Again, I do not know what to expect in terms of size.

Don't understand.
The Jameco page you referenced shows many resistors whose minimum purchase quantity is "1".

1/4W axial is a good, common size.

You just need one big enough to enclose the protoboard.

Just went to order the resistors off that site I posted a link to. They have all of them besides the 95k ohm. The only 95k ohm they have is 1/20W. Will that do, or no?

Ok. I was looking at the latest schematic posted in post #27 but that was before the amperage draw of the bulbs was calculated. So your numbers are probably. After that calculation but not yet posted in this thread.
