What component in a simple Sawtoo Ocillator develops the output cycle ?
It depends on the circuit. You can indeed change a capacitor and change the frequency, but there is always at least one other component that will also do it, e.g., a resistor.

One method of producing a sawtooth waveform is to take a capacitor and charge it using a constant current source. This produces a linear increase in voltage across the capacitor since it is governed by the equation:

\(\LARGE \frac{dv}{dt}=\frac{\LARGE i}{C}\)
