Hi,

I need help in replacing a suppression capacitor. I took out a MKP .47K GMF X2 capacitor from a surge protection board. Can I replace this with a MKP .47uF K GMF X2 capacitor? Are they both same? The old removed capacitor measures 4.5nF when tested with a DMM while the new one measures 460nF.

For clarity I have appended the picture of the old and new capacitor which I want to use. The old one on left side and new one on right side.

That looks like a good replacement.
But they are not the same. The new one still works!
