powering speakers without an outlet.

hi, its the electronically illeterate martindev again. i have one more question. i want to hook up my speakers (creative sbs vivid 80) hook them up to my bike, and roll around my hood' witth my music blasting. (and hopefully not get shot. my neigborhood is crummy) they are 12 volt dc. what do i need to get the speakers turned on without an outlet?and this might be a stupid question, but are batterys even dc? can i hook up a series of batteries, to make 12 volts?

i forgot to mention that i have a laptop battery that says,

NOM 10.8 V 4.0AH

can i use this with a rechargable 1.2 volt battery and have that be my power source?

Hi,

If your speakers have a power inlet, it's going to state what that voltage and current are. Batteries are DC. Get a rechargable gel cell fron American Science & Surplus if your speakers use 12 volts. You can charge the battery from a car's lighter socket.
