power supply help

i don't know if it works or not cause i brought it from the thrash person.
it has a 20 pin connector for the motherboard.
i will try to add load on both 5v and 12v supply's

i know that and i also bought one but it didn't start.
rather i would like to make it than spending money on an old power supply from a computer.
did you short green to ground? that's what turns it on.

Then, from that, you get the combinations

-12 & +12 = 24VDC
-12 & +5 = 17VDC
-12 & +3.3 = 15.3VDC
-12 & GND = -12VDC
-12 & -5 = 7VDC

-5 & +12 = 7VDC
-5 & +5 = 10VDC
-5 & +3.3 = 8.3VDC
-5 & GND = -5VDC

+3.3 & +5 = 1.7VDC
+3.3 & +12 = 8.7VDC

+5 & +12 = 7VDC

And yes, all verified w/ multimeter & testlamps.

i tried adding load to all the wires but still there is no change
the fan and all the bulbs run for a second and then goes off

if you don't know and if you say i may be can find a new on
and start from beginning and try all again
