Damn right, people are lazy today. Why use a nice model of one simple quasi-particle when you can calculate, examine and explain the same effect using a handful of actual particles with complex group behavior.

Do we have any young budding physicists out there. Can we find one who has a little money and could suffer the title of the most famous physicist of all time and the father of a scientific renaissance?

Take an electron and wind it down to the size of a proton, before accelerating. This is called an anti-proton. Now accelerate these electrons like the protons. Collide them together. You will get the same fragment spay.......only the handedness of the fragments is inverted.

This should prove that you are wasting your time on charge fragments.
