Pool Chlorinator issue

Hi. I have a duoclear 60 pool chlorinator. My problem is that the timer works to turn off the chlorinator and pump at night. However, in the morning it turns the pump on but not the chlorinator. I can manually turn the chlorinator on and it works fine and will again turn off with the timer at night. I tried running the chlorinator for 3 days straight to see if the battery needed to be recharged. This did not resolve the problem. Is it an issue with the board?

To turn on the chlorinator requires a push of a button correct?

The backup battery is to save the settings if power is interrupted or switched OFF.
Seems like the chlorinator should be wired directly to power since it is only activated by the flow sensor.

You don't state what the problem is. Is the chlorinator supposed to come on with the pump every time? If so, was it doing this for a while, and then stopped? Is this a programmable configuration that has changed, and needs to be reset?

Yes the chlorinator is suppose to come on each time with the the pump. It is being turned off with the pump, by the timer, but only the pump is coming on in the morning. This was working fine before and nothing has been reprogrammed or reset….it just stopped coming on. Chlorinator only starts when pushed manually. The chlorine setting is also not being saved when it turns off, which is why I thought it might have been the battery.

Certainly sounds like the battery if the setting is not being saved.
When the timer shuts off what are the indicators on the chlorinator showing?

Before the timer shuts off, the chlorinator settings are normal (whatever we have manually set them to since the last manual restart). Then the timer turns everything off. When timer turns back on, the pump turns on and nothing turns on with the chlorinator and no settings saved. At this point we have to manually restart it and reset the settings for the chlorinator.
