Polysynth keyboard

Hello

Iam trying to make a polysynth with a teensy 4.1 but i dont know how the keyboard part would work. Can somebody help me with this part.

The keyboard is normally arranged as a scanned X-Y matrix of switches. How many keys will your keyboard have?

If what interests you most is the synth part of it, how about buying a cheap MIDI keyboard and using the MIDI data? You’ll also get “velocity” data which wouldn‘t be the easiest to acquire from a bunch of switches.

Yeah i could do that

I think you would need 16 IO pins to handle the scanning. I'm not familiar with the teensy, so don't know if it can be configured to provide that many.
