In my experience the quality of the photo that the AAC server shows is degraded compared to a high quality original. Do you notice this? It's not a watermark but does discourage usage.
Yes it's a little degraded. But that pic could easily be used in a webpage at a smaller size. On the other hand, I'm not sure I like the idea of "spoiling" the pic with a watermark.

There are a number of ways to hide information in picture files (search steganography) that can be used that are not visible.

Also, I really enjoy your wife's pics. They are always good pics and many times I would call them great shots. She absolutely has an eye for composition. On the other hand, there are many excellent photographers taking many great pictures. Each one of those that you post can be criticized on some basis by someone. Take a look at some amateur photo contests to get an idea of what goes on.

I say she doesn't have to go anywhere with her photography (not that you have been suggesting otherwise) - if she is passionate about it and it brings joy, that is enough...well that and as long as you keep posting them :)

Yep, people will steal them. The funniest story I know about such a theft is by an unscrupulous Ebay seller who didn't even bother to actually steal the picture, just used the link (to a coin that was being sold in the auction) - and there were multiple instances with different coins. The photographer replaced the original images with a very "creative" picture while keeping the link intact. The auction advert, however, was not changed and continued to show with the new picture - could not have been good for sales :)

On the other hand, I also know of a good amateur who posts at a well-known photography site and she has said that she has been contacted multiple times by places that offer to pay her for using her photos.

That's her one and only aim ... to enjoy and share the art of photography. And she doesn't have any ambitions beyond that (that I'm aware of).

As for going professional, I don't think it's on her plans, but one never knows. I have a friend who's much more passionate about photography and has taken some pretty impressive shots and posted them online to see if anyone was interested in acquiring them. Well, he now brags that he's finally reached the level of professional because someone liked one of his pics and actually payed him 70¢ for it ... :D ... I told him not to quit his day job yet...

Note: Leonardo Da Vinci was a year out of his apprenticeship when he was paid 24 Florins to do a painting!!

I recall one Sunday I strolled around a large second hand store in the U.S.
I spotted two small framed oil paintings on canvas that appeared to be Renoir in style. $1.50 ea.
An elderly couple picked them up with each other apparently giving them an intense appraisal.
After about 5min or so, one turns to the other and says, Ah they're copies!:)

Last of the Vegas pictures.

Great weather. Was in the 80's all week with the Vegas crowd being very mellow after Easter Sunday.

Huge mussels and vino.

Lunch at the M Resort Studio B, a few miles south of the Vegas strip in Henderson, Nevada.
