Nice exhibit of traditional fighter pilot food!
I could probably sit at that table for hours without a thought in my head... just peace and relaxation
Kind of reminds me of a couple trips to Wright Patterson Air Force base's museum many years ago while waiting for my aunt and uncle to fly in. It was neat, but too young to really appreciate it. It might be time to make it down again some day
So a quick edit, using the limited versions of my usual post tools that I have on the iPad—Abobe Lightroom and Photoshop. I could definitely do better on the desktop, particularly with recovering detail and eliminating noise, but a few minutes of messing around for fun…The moon was big and bright and I decided I would try a couple night shots with my GoPro. I found I have a lot to learn and nothing came out looking right. With a little help from Gimp though I was able to turn it in to something...

OK, couldn’t resist—same idea, iPad limited but not to give the wrong idea, the iPad is quite good even with its limits. It’s just that my desktop (or notebook) is considerably more capable. Anyway, goal here was stars!A shot of Orion with the GoPro on it's standard night settings. It was actually a lot darker than the picture shows. Apparently there was some activity going on that I didn't see...

I didn't realize until afterwards I had set up on a small hill in yard that made it a bit crooked, but it kind of worked so I left it. The light and shadow on the clouds is pretty neat and the slight blur makes it look more like a painting in ways.
This one really turned out nice!! Above the tree line I'm assuming was a plane since they are pretty common both day and night (one of these days I'll get one of the fighter jets that fly over once a week or so). The small vertical streak to the left of Orion has be a bit puzzled. I would really like to know what that was. Maybe just a higher flying plane, but that seems too far for a normal plane. The standard setting was about a three to five second exposure... I didn't time it, but it felt like forever.
That is pretty! It's rare to see that many stars around here anymore. The cities and towns have grown so much over the last 40 years that it's difficult to see anything even in the central farm land where I am. Maybe the long exposure just brought them out. I looked up Wakarusa out of curiosity and it looks like the area would be about the same as here with the proximity of various sized towns and such. I kind of chuckled a bit when I saw route 6 and 20 on the map. Route 6 is just six or seven miles north and 20 is probably 20 to 25 miles.
