I'm creating a public PCB design checklist. The scope is consumer products and maker stuff.

What would you put in such a checklist? What common pitfalls do you know of that should go in such a checklist?

Topics are for example: Digital logic, microcontroller, pcb board, LEDs, buttons, decoupling capacitors, MEMS microphone, etc.

I thought I was following until your example topics.

Could you give an example of what part of your checklist might look like?

Thank you for your reply :)
I'm using a special website to create the checklist, but I don't think I'm allowed to post the link here. But I can show you what the current state of my schematic checklist is:

I'm looking for other things to check, for example regarding DC/DC-converters or digital logic (microcontroller, memory, etc.). Things that can go wrong and should be checked before moving on to placement or sending the PCB to manufacturing.

For example the check for decoupling capacitors "One for each chip" says that you should always place at least once decoupling cap for each digital IC (to prevent signal integrity issues, etc.)

Can you follow me now?
