Seven symptoms of evil

The idea that evil is a disease is predicated on the observation that mass killers share some common traits:

  • Compulsive repetitive violence
  • Obsessive beliefs
  • Rapid desensitisation to violence
  • Flat emotional state
  • Separation of violence from everyday activities
  • Obedience to an authority
  • Perceiving group members as virtuous
It's almost like a "distorted" way to train a trooper. (No smiley face this time)

I would say "exactly" the way to train. I'll ask my Marine friend for comment, but I'm pretty sure I know the answer.
Yeah there will be some justifications that an outsider can't really fathom/understand but doesn't make less of a bullshit anyhow... Sometimes you need to take a step back. From where war isn't the norm all war fought with deadly weapons are clusterfucks.

Somewhere in here, I got the impression that someone posted the idea that bipolar was antisocial or psychopathic.

No.

Definitely not.

An unfair characterization.

Perhaps a different way of thinking. Perhaps one that changes over time. But...

No!

If I misread the post - Nevermind!

If that is the case, I missed it entirely. Bipolar definitely does not equal evil.

To clarify further, for instance, (in my personal opinion), love is not a feeling but rather a choice. For example, one chooses to stay with the wife (or husband) even when she drives you nuts sometimes. So you lay your feelings aside, and work at the relationship to straighten things up. You apply your will to make things right, regardless of how you feel.

Evil is exactly the same. It's not a feeling or an emotion, but rather a conscious choice to do harm. Just as there's a big difference between romance and true love, the same distinction applies between a wrathful (and perhaps bipolar, of course) person and an evil one.
