Hello,
can someone please tell me the importance of 1K ohm resistor value taken during maximum operations, on the output of the optocoupler MCT2E ?

An additional explanation is that the MCT2E does not supply an output voltage and so it requires an external voltage source, and a fairly normal collector load resistance in order to produce a useful output.

Also the majority of opto couplers can be used with sink or source output options, i.e. the resistor on the 'collector' or to GND on the 'emitter'.
In order to obtain inversion.

a bit off topic, but any ideas why i got notification that OP created this thread?
Random stuff has been happening here for a few month. It must have been one of the "improvements." My take is that not more than half of all changes make things better. That is absolute truth with operating systems, and certainly applicable to most software. In fact, it seems to apply to most of life.
