I am new to waveguides and trying to solve a homework problem based on TE,TM and TEM mode . I will be very thankful If someone can give me any hints how to approach this problem .
As far as I understood from text for part(a) Only Z component will make the propagation vector . For the total Electric field in medium 1 using complex notation It has to be with the exponential function ? The Wave number of incident and reflected wave they are proportional to each other .
