Hello all! I have gotten an old portable dvd player, and want to use it to make a sort of raspberry pi laptop. However, I need a way to control the LCD screen that is in the thing. I would use the existing circuitry, but it does not support video input, so I'm hooped. It has this 30 pin orange ribbon connector, and amongst my searchings, i have gotten confused with TTL connectors, LVDS connectors and different pin numbers and all that stuff. The part number from the LCD is LTA070B340A. I want to use a board (i think) like this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/PCB800099-L...1336454?hash=item43fa407286:g:tWgAAOSwcLxYFwc~ , but I'm still unsure... I hope this info can help you help me. Thanks!

What good is that LCD screen if it did not have an input? Or, did it have an input and you are just not telling us what kind of input it has?

My bad, I meant that the accompanying dvd circuitry did not have a built in method for video input from an external source. I wouldn't be asking the question if that were the case. The LCD itself has an input, but I know not which type, although my searchings have led me to believe it is a TTL connector, if that's a thing.

im not really looking for something like that. I need something like I posted above, that had a HDMI or other input that can drive the LCD. And no, I dont have the tools to solder as small as the connector on the LCD.

If you don't have the skills or the tools to work with that connector then it is pointless to ask about hacking it.

Take a look at something like this if you want a smaller display.
